Who we are
RC Watchdog is independent and nonpartisan. It is not a campaign, a political party, a candidate's committee or a PAC (political action committee). It does not work with, take direction from, or coordinate with any candidate, campaign, party or committee.
No political spending
RC Watchdog makes no contributions and pays for no advertising for or against any candidate or ballot measure. It does not ask for or accept money from anyone. This site does not tell anyone how to vote.
Where the information comes from
Everything here is drawn from public records, such as campaign filings with the California Secretary of State (Cal-Access), local campaign filings, state forms, business filings, tax filings, license records and government records. Each fact is linked to its source record, so you can check it yourself.
Summaries of official public records and public proceedings are meant to be fair and accurate accounts of what those records say. Campaign filings are shown as the filers reported them. Filers can amend their reports, and amendments can change the figures.
Questions and opinions
Where this site asks a question or says something is worth asking, that is opinion based on the public records shown with it. It is not a statement of fact about anyone.
No claim of wrongdoing
Nothing on this site or in its reports claims or suggests that any person or company broke any law, did anything improper, or committed any crime.
How to read the connections
Political committees pool their money. Filings do not show which dollars a committee passed on to any candidate. When money is shown moving through a group, that shows timing and the path in the records, not that specific dollars were passed on.
Being listed next to other donors or recipients does not connect a person or group to anyone else, beyond what the records themselves show.
Errors and corrections
We have checked the information against the public records, but errors or omissions are still possible. If you find one, please check it against the linked source record. Corrections supported by the records are welcome and will be reviewed.

Privacy
This site does not use cookies, does not track visitors and does not record IP addresses. We keep only a simple count of how many times each page is visited, with nothing that identifies you or your device. If you use the Contact page, we keep only what you type and the date and time it arrived.
